It’s the Bike Path from Levanto to Bonassola: it’s easy and absolutely beautiful with stunning views over the sea. If you’d like to proceed further, you can also reach the village of Framura.

All you need to know about Bike Path from Levanto to Bonassola and Framura

The cycle path from Levanto to Bonassola is only 2,8 km long and it’s all flat. If you want, once you are arrived in Bonassola, you can proceed further to the next village, namely Framura.
If you are planning to travel this path in advanced spring time or during summer, I highly recommend yu to bring some water with you and a swim suit! That’s because along the way, you will find several free beaches where you can stop for a swim.

How to reach the bike path

If you are thinking about taking this path from Levanto, finding its beginning isn’t hard at all.
You just have to reach the big parking space located in front of the sea. Once you are there, looking at the sea, proceed on the right and go straight ahead until you see the yellow signs on the right side of the street that show the cycle path. Then, you will soon encounter the entrance of the first tunnel.

This beautiful cycle path has not always been here. In the past the railway was passing through here and where the path is located today, there used to be the train tracks. In fact, Levanto train station, used to be where the big parking space in front of the sea is located now. Then the railway was moved to the innermost part of Levanto, which is its current position now. In the place of the old railway line we find a wonderful route that alternates tunnels and open part of the road with amazing sea views. There are also small hidden beaches (there is also one where dogs are allowed in summertime) and many benches along the way where you can stop and enjoy the beautiful sight.

Only a few tunnels separate Levanto from Bonassola and in about 15-20 minutes you’ll have reached Bonassola. Take your time to explore this small village and then proceed straight ahead towards the next stop: Framura.

Extra tip: reach the pink little church

Since you are in Bonassola i highly recommend you to park the bike for a while and take a short walk to a beautiful hidden place: the small church known as “Madonnina della Punta”. It is a tiny pink church located on the top of a cliff and it’s particularly charming ad dawn or with the sunset lights.
Reach the Ex Oratory of Saint Erasmo and take the stairs gong uphill. Once you’ve reached the street (via Roma), proceed on the left and go straight ahead until you reach the small church.

The Cycle Path from Bonassola to Framura

This part of the route is longer than the previous one and there are less spots with sea view.
But then you’ll be reaching an amazing fishermen’s harbor with a stunning promenade that will take you to beautiful beaches with crystal clear water! Park your bike here and enjoy your time in Framura.
